Door Step School

Parivartan Training Center

Overview

A significant effort at capacity building for the Door step School team has always been incorporated into the organization’s work. The Door Step School Training Center in Pune was started in late 2007 and came to be known as “Parivartan Training Center”. The need for a training center was felt when Door Step School needed to recruit many teachers for the Project Foundation and new recruits could not be placed in the field directly. The training center remains the backbone for our operations and, helps in quality management of teachers and other staff. It also provides a platform for women to learn new skills, pursue a career, and also increases their confidence and social status as a by-product of the core goals of the center.

Since its inception, Parivartan training center has evolved as a well recognized training center for teachers and field management staff in the NGO network in Pune as well as among Pune Municipal School authorities. Training have been organized for other NGO’s and teachers of Municipal School Teachers. In addition to new teachers’ training, refresher trainings, skill upgradation trainings, soft skills training, creche workers’ training and pre-primary teachers’ trainings are also conducted in the training center. Annual exhibitions in various relevant topics such as “Project method in teaching”, “Ideal Classroom”, have been organized for staff as well as for anyone interested in knowing about these topics. Exhibitions are organized in the training center with the aim to provide guidance in relevant topics and specifically targeted for teachers and other field staff.
