\"volunteerWe have plenty of opportunities if you are interested in volunteering with us. As a volunteer with Door Step School – Pune, you can help in following activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

* Every Child Counts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Conducting surveys at Construction sites in order to get details of the children that are not enrolled in schools
\n– School enrolment
\n– Conducting follow-ups of children enrolled through ECC campaign
\n– Events for parents\u2019 awareness (Parents Participation in Child\u2019s Education): Writing scripts and directing street plays and also acting.<\/p>\n

* Project Foundation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"dss_volunteer_1\"<\/a>– Teaching at construction site
\n– Activities at construction site E.g. arts and craft activities, telling stories with help of pictures, conducting simple science experiments, showing CDs on environment, personal hygiene, sports activities etc.
\n– School-on-Wheels: teaching and engaging children in various activities inside the bus
\n– Running library in School-on-Wheels
\n– Organising events Eg: Republic day, Holi, Diwali, etc.
\n– Organising events for children, such as quiz, lectures, competitions, art camps, dance shows, etc.
\n– Taking children out to nearby parks, zoo, bank, factory, etc. for learning and enjoyment. (Need prior planning with DSS teachers)<\/p>\n

* Project Grow With Books<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Reading classes in municipal schools
\n– Working with DSS staff in municipal schools. Distributing extra-reading books to children and helping them improve reading ability.
\n– Teaching English under the English teaching Program<\/a><\/p>\n

* Community Learning Centre<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Working with children of 6th to 10th standard to teach them Maths\/Science\/English.
\n– Mentoring\/ guiding the children in any subjects that they are lagging behind in.
\n– Helping 11th standard students with English, since it is difficult for them to switch from Marathi medium to English medium
\n– Activities for students e. g. arts and crafts
\n– Computer training
\n– Working in the library and science laboratory<\/p>\n

* Parivartan Training Centre<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Training DSS staff e.g. computer training
\n– Creating training modules\/ delivering training to our staff on various topics
\n– Helping with documentation and office management
\n– Preparing Teaching material which will be used in site classes e.g. puppets, charts, flash cards, innovative teaching tools, etc.<\/p>\n

* Strategic Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Organising fundraising activities at own college or office.\"dss_volunteer_2\"<\/a>
\n– Help in fundraising activities by manning DSS stalls at exhibitions in companies, malls, etc<\/p>\n

* Behind the scene activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

– Entering data into excel or software fields, from manual reports
\n– Preparing reports, planning events, conducting meetings, etc
\n– Translating reports and information submitted by DSS staff, from Marathi to English.
\n– Taking photos of various events\/ activities\u00a0 and writing articles for blogs\/ newsletter
\n– Designing newsletters, e-mailers, posters, and other promotional material.<\/p>\n
