Mrs. Paranjpe (or Rajani Tai as she is fondly called) founded Door Step School along with her ex-student Bina Lashkari, out of her passion for children and education. As a professional Social Worker she realized that Education was the single most important factor that could bring about a change in the lower strata of society. With this goal in mind she founded the Door Step School which today has become a 750+ member strong organization.

Rajani Tai has a Masters in Social Work and is a retired professor, having taught subjects like Indian Social Problems and International Social Welfare. She has held posts at both the College of Social Work, Mumbai and the Shikoku Christian University, Japan and has a teaching experience of more than 20 years. In addition to teaching she has also headed the Research Department and Anganwadi Training Center at the College of Social Work.

Ms. Bhavana Kulkarni

Director – The Society for Door Step Schools, Pune

M.Sc (Statistics), University of Pune

Bhavana joined Door Step School as a volunteer during the citizen campaign launched in 2011 called “Every Child Counts”.  Since November 2012, Bhavana started working as Co-Director at Door Step School, Pune and was later appointed as Director in August 2015.

Bhavana has a total of 17 years experience in software development, software testing and project management, out of which total of 3.5 years experience in research and development at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. Prior to her joining Door Step School, Bhavana held senior level positions such as Group Head in Wipro Technologies, Technical Manager at Persistent Systems, Software Quality Assurance Manager at Veritas Software, and Research Assistant at C-DAC. During her tenure at Wipro, Bhavana received “Best People Manager” award, which was based on nominations from her team.

Ms. Ankita Yadav

Associate Project Director – Every Child Counts: Citizens’ Campaign, Pune

Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Masters in Arts (Psychology) University of Pune

Ankita is a gold medalist from Pune University with an MA in Psychology. She has been associated with the Education Sector since 1999 when she started working with  special needs children. Along with this, she has had a 2-year research stint with Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad. Since 2010, Ankita has been appointed as Associate Project Director for Educational Activities Centers at construction sites under the Project Foundation and Every Child Counts: Citizens’ Campaign.

Ms. Varsha Jadhav

Associate Director – School on Wheels Program, Pune

Masters in Commerce (M.Com) , University of Pune

Varsha has been a social activist for 10 years. She joined Door Step School as computer instructor and worked her way to her current position as Associate Director. She has been responsible for Door Step School’s work at construction sites and community learning centers under the program Project Foundation. She then moved to the role of Associate Director, Finance for 5 years. Realizing her thirst and potential to learn more and give back more she was handed the reigns of School on Wheels program in May 2018.

Ms. Rajashree Jadhav

Associate Project Director – Project Grow with Books, Pune

M.A in Sociology  , University of Pune

Ms. Rajashree Jadhav joined Door Step School in 1994 as a teacher working at grass root level . Over the years, she has worked on many different projects within Door Step School and worked her way up to her current position in 2006 as Associate Project Director for our school intervention program Project Grow With Books.

Ms. Gauri Gokhale

Associate Project Director – Training And Capacity Building, Pune

Bachelor in Arts (B. A). from Pune University with special subject as Marathi Literature, Master in Social Work (M.S.W) from Pune University with specialization in Family & Child Welfare.

Gauri has extensive experience in Social Sector working with organizations such as Foundation For Research In Community Health (FRCH) as research officer,  Ashish Gram Rachana Trust, Institute of Health Management working in the field of Community Development and Nari Samata Manch, Pune working in field of Domestic Violence and for destitute women.

Gauri has been appointed Associate Director – Training and Capacity Building since 2007 at Door Step School.

Ms. Leena Satav

Associate Director – HR and Administration, Pune

B com, Basic Computer Course

Ms. Leena Satav started her career in Door Step School in 1999 as a Book Fairy for the Project Grow With Books. Over the years, she worked her way up  and was appointed in 2010 as Associate Project Director – Community Learning Centers. She is now Associate Director for HR and Administration, Pune and assists in Funding related reports generation and data analysis.

Ms. Sunila Page

Associate Project Director – Project Foundation, Pune

Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Indore, 1997 and Masters degree in Psychotherapy & Counseling from IIPM, Mumbai, 2003

Ms. Sunila Page joined Door Step School in 2014 as Associate Director for Community Learning Centres and moved up to manage entire Project Foundation . She has 15 years of work experience which includes counseling of parents of persons with mental retardation, mental patients and addicts, and conducting sessions of Life Skill Education with children in communities. She has been actively involved in community development and is extremely passionate about her work.
