Subodh and Sakshi from Computer Study Center

- Subodh Patil, a resident of the community, was a student with Door Step School until July 2004. At that time he would accompany his class to the centre and picked up some computer skills. He left Door Step School to continue conducting tutorials for children in the community as it was a better source of income, however he decided to join one of our computer classes to keep learning.
He was a very quick learner and was doing well. When he was half way through the course he came across an advertisement in the newspaper for a computer operator in HCL Ltd. In an office in the World Trade Centre complex, very close to the community. He applied and was selected. Though he could not continue with the course due to working hours over lapping, he still comes in to talk to our staff whenever he has a problem with computers at work.
He hopes to be able to work out an arrangement whereby he can make up the part of the course he has missed and take the exam for it.
- Sakshi Satam, was referred to the computer centre by her boss at M/s Orbit at the World Trade Centre. He had seen another employee benefit greatly after attending the course last year. She is unable to attend regularly as she lives in Thane, almost 75 kms away from her place of work and the computer centre. However, whatever she has learnt at the centre she finds very useful and she does not hesitate to call in whenever she has any problems.
She hopes to find a way of completing the course.
